Hi, my name is Tara and I am the Director of Operations and co-owner of Skribbles Learning Center. I have been in the Early Childhood field for over 24 years and I still enjoy my job. I started my career working in a group daycare center as an assistant teacher before starting Skribbles Family Daycare in 1992. During my time at home, I continued to take classes to obtain the DEEC certifications to become an Infant, Toddler, and Preschool Lead Teacher as well as hold a position of Director II. After many years of working in my home, my sister, Juliane and I thought it would be perfect to join our talents and open a large child care center together. And so, Skribbles Learning Center was formed in 2003. I truly enjoy my job, working alongside my family and an amazingly talented staff. Together, we bring your children exciting programs, a stimulating curriculum and loads of fun. Children are so important to me and I take every chance I can to make a difference in the life of a child. I have been both a Cub Scout Leader and a Fresh Air host for several years and give back to the community whenever I can. Additionally, I started a program called the Jesse Jason Project where we help children in need throughout the year and especially at Christmas time to help those in need.
I currently live in Shrewsbury, MA with my husband, Jim, and our two boys; Jesse, who is 14 and in the 8th grade and Jason, who is 11 and in the 6th grade. I am a proud Mom to my boys who have each earned the rank of Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do. In addition, both boys are active with the Boy Scouts and also play Youth Ice Hockey for the Junior Crusaders League.
Animal Rescue Leagues are important to my family and we have rescued our two dogs from organizations; Tanner, a Chocolate Labrador from Arkansas and Parker, a Golden Retriever from Tennessee. We also live with a Ball Python snake, Two Guinea Pigs, Frogs and a Reef Aquarium. Needless to say, living in a home full of boys (and animals!) is very busy! When I'm not working, you'll find me at the nearest hockey rink or spending quality time with my family. Also, traveling is a must!
Returning to a large setting, I have learned that working in a Center is very different from being in a home environment. There are many more families and children to learn about. However, I am giving the same promise here that I did in my family daycare; to see that your children are given the utmost love and care possible, while having a fun experience away from home. I look forward to meeting each and every one of you and welcoming you to Skribbles Learning Center.
Hello, my name is Juliane. I am the Business Director and co- owner of Skribbles Learning Center, LLC. I graduated from Suffolk University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. Since then, I have worked at large corporations including Hasbro, Inc. and Staples, Inc., but I always longed for owning a business of my own.
After years of tossing the idea back and forth, my sister, Tara, and I thought it was time to bring our talents together. We both had the experience and a love for children. We opened Skribbles Learning Center on February 3, 2003.
I currently live in Shrewsbury with my son, Nicholas, and two German Shepherds Reggie and Leo. In our spare time, we love to travel and hang out with family and friends.
If given the opportunity, we promise to make your stay at Skribbles a memorable one.
Hello, my name is Rosa. I am the Lead Infant teacher at Skribbles Learning Center. I have been working in the Early Childhood field for 15 years. All of my experience has been with infants and young toddlers. I am certified by the Department of Early Education and Care to work in both infant and toddler classrooms.
I am currently attending Becker College to obtain my Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education.
I was born in Puerto Rico and moved to the United States when I was 7 years old. I am bilingual, speaking Spanish and English. I currently live in Shrewsbury with my three children; Carlos, 17 years, Kiara, 10 years old and Destiny 2 years old. Carlos and Kiara attend Shrewsbury Public School and Destiny is enrolled in the Transition classroom here at Skribbles.
I have a strong passion for children, probably from growing up in a large family where I was one of the oldest. I have a lot of patience, which is needed in this field!
When I'm not at Skribbles, I enjoy spending time with my family, going to the movies and bowling. I really look forward to establishing a relationship with you and your children.
Transition Teacher, West Main Street- 2004
Hello, my name is Laura and I am the Lead Toddler teacher at the West Main Street location. I attended Tahanto Regional Middle/High School and obtained my teacher certification after 4 years of dedicated, hard work to their on-site preschool. After high school I knew the Early Childhood Education field was for me.
In September 2004 I joined the Skribbles family, working in the Preschool classroom. Soon after, a position opened in the toddler room and I have been there ever since. It is my goal to provide a well rounded, safe, nurturing and developmentally appropriate environment for the children in my care. One of my favorite activities to do with the toddlers are art projects. The messier the better!!! The process is more important than the product. If the kids get messy, have learned something new and had a great time doing it then I have done my job.
In my free time I am taking online classes towards my Bachelor's degree in ECE. I also enjoy spending time with my family and boyfriend, reading, movies, and photography. I feel that being able to capture moments that the children have at school, and being able to send those moments home to the parents is priceless.
I look forward to meeting you and welcoming you into the Skribbles family.
